The changing of the seasons, especially from frozen to thawed conditions, will also bring an inevitable aging. Even these factors can be significantly reduced by coating the wood with a suitable surface. Stop the water and the dirt getting to the wood, and give it some degree of protection against harshness, and it will serve you for longer. Coating the wood will let you get the most you can from your cedar decking.
